History

Villa Ramadas is the culmination of five years of work and was founded in early 2002 when Eduardo da Silva returned to Portugal. He had been based in England where he was the Chief Executive of one of the top five treatment centres in the UK and completing his university studies.

The opening of Villa Ramadas was in a direct response to the number of Portuguese and europeans patients that were travelling for treatment in the UK. The aim is to give an English style treatment to Portuguese and european patients without the need for travel.

Together with Alan Lane a counsellor with over 25 years of experience in the area of addiction counselling and with more than 18 years treating Portuguese, Greek, Spanish and other European patients, Villa Ramadas was established and opened officially by Maria Barroso - The President of the Portuguese Red Cross.
The House was built in two phases the first being a family house which was refurbished and enlarged for the purpose of rural tourism.
The then owners where approached by Eduardo da Silva to establish the house as a international treatment centre for recovery. The rest as they say is history……….
